Today's Politicians
We find ourselves faced with a
vast majority of our politicians that have either forgotten or
choose to ignore their purpose in Washington DC. It has been a
gradual process that they have substituted their own values and
desires for those of their constituents.
Why Politicians Have Lost
Their Way
The pressures brought to bear by
lobbyists, party leaders, and special interest groups have caused
our politicians to lose sight of the fact that they are in
Washington to represent us, their constituents.
What Can You Do?
We must begin to reverse this
process. How do you reverse this process? In order to reverse the
process we must begin to elect representatives that will reflect the
opinions and desires of the people within their district within the
national arena. You need to study the platform of each of the
candidates and vote for candidates that share your values and will
represent those values in Washington D.C.
What Will I Do?
I pledge, when elected, to truly
represent the people of Florida's 24th Congressional District. I
will seek out your opinions in the forms of surveys, town hall
meetings, breakfast meetings, truly listening to your phone calls,
e-mails, and letters. I will treat every form of communication with
the respect that it deserves and if it requires action on my part
you will receive a response as soon as humanly possible. I will work
for no one but my constituents. My staff will always remember
that my constituents come first!
